Blackpool Airport (BLK) is located several miles south of Blackpool itself, in the NW of England. The airport is run by a company called MAR Properties along with Wolverhampton Airport.

Blackpool Airport, or Blackpool International Airport, to give it its full name today operates flights to over 25 European destinations. In addition the airport recently underwent a multi million pound makeover, increasing the number of check in desks, baggage handling as well as brand new concourse, cafeteria and shops.

The refurb means Blackpool can now handle in excess of 2 million passengers per year. A £2m refurbishment of our passenger terminal in 2006 means the airport now has more facilities and services than ever before. This may explain the rapid increase in the number of travellers using the airport, currently at over half a million.
