1.  Check that there is no undocumented damage to the car - you may end up paying for this!
2. Ask whether the car needs to be returned with a full tank of fuel. Fuel surcharges can be pretty high.
3. Bring your full driving license with you - including the counterpart - so the company can check you have no undeclared driving offences. Some firms charge a fee for ringing the DVLA (for UK license holders) to verify your details.
